You may think you are immune to stress, you thrive on it, but it always nearly always eventually comes back to bite back with a vengeance.
You may think stress is inevitable in your life, unavoidable, but if what you are actually talking about is 'worry' then it certainly is actually a choice.
The Dalai Lama XIV famously said (or something close)
"If there is no solution to the problem then don't waste time worrying about it. If there is a solution to the problem then don't waste time worrying about it."
That's all very well but if you have spent a lifetime practicing being stressed it can be a very difficult vicious circle to break out of, even when you realise the act of being stressed is making things worse. Best advice - seek help.
In the heat of the moment stress can have a function to increase strength and stamina but in the long term it's at expense of digestion, brain function, mood and possible increased inflamation.
Interestingly the NHS seems to broadly agree with the Dalai Lama;
"Do not focus on the things you cannot change – focus your time and energy into helping yourself feel better"
